About Twentymans
With generations of Italian cooks behind him, Andrew Twentyman has built up an impressive reputation for artisan baking. The pizzas, breads and cakes served here are on a higher level and foodies will love sampling as much of the menu as possible. You’ll get a truly authentic taste of Italy as recipes include traditional Caputo flour, which hails from Naples.

3 months agoWe visited in the evening, the best pizza I have had in a long time. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The waitress was very helpful and friendly and we all really enjoyed the food. The prices are also very reasonable. If you like pizza you will love this place.

6 months agoWOW!!!! What an amazing surprise! A real little hidden gem with the best pizza I've tasted in a long time. The place is really cute with a mix of traditional and industrial decor, feels really quite intimate. The chef really understands baking and the pizza dough is 2nd to non!.....Oh and the Tiramisu was "right up there with the best" according to the super fussy teenage Tiramisu enthusiast, and i've just been asked to give a shout out to the canoli's...delightful! The staff were great, the price was great and they do takeaways too! I honestly can't understand why this place was not fully booked! We'll definitely be frequenting more often.

9 months agoThis is a gem of a place. The pizzas always come out perfectly. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated giving it a relaxing vibe. I would highly recommend!

10 months agoMy favourite pizza place, you have to go to Manchester/Liverpool (or Italy lol) to get this good a stone baked pizza and I’m glad they’ve survived in Leigh when there’s barely anything good left in this town. The bad reviews aren’t genuine and very unfair -fuelled by political views. Some idiots love to ruin a good thing about our town and that’s coming from someone who has opposite political views to the owner myself, those people don’t represent me anyway. ☺️ keep up the good work!

10 months agoBeen here multiple times, takeaway and dine in. Me and my girlfriend try all the pizza restaurants around Manchester and Twentyman’s is easily our favourite! No complaints, will be back very soon ?

10 months agoFood was very cheap and well overpriced chicago town pizzas taste better than them. Owner was very rude to his staff, he didn't wash his hands after picking his nose when handling the sourdough and he was a very strange man seems like hes not all there! avoid at all costs and definetley keep youre kids away!!!

10 months agoLovely place and great food. Staff very attentive and helpful. Very accommodating with small baby and great high chairs which always makes dining out with babies much easier. Will definitely be returning.

11 months agoAverage pizza at restaurant prices, they say you can dine in but it's very small with only a few tables like a buttery shop. It didn't taste any better than an average takeaway and if I'm paying 20 quid for a pizza I'd expect abit more than what I received. Maybe I just got the chef on a bad day, but uncooked dough in the crust and very very greasy.. rip off.

1 year agoThe interior and atmosphere in this restaurant is fab. Andrew & Betty the owners are really welcoming and friendly. The food is amazing and always cooked fresh to order in a huge oven at the back and their bakery section is delicious. It's dog friendly too.

1 year agoSeriously good pizza! You won’t ever want a dominos again once you’ve tried Twentymans authentic Italian pizza. We’ve been coming here now for almost 3 years. We typically order the spicy nudja and often dream about this pizza too ? The staff are really friendly and It’s a lovely calm, cool and rustic atmosphere inside if you fancy dining in. It’s Leigh’s hidden treasure. I’d of included a photo but unfortunately I’ve already eaten my pizza ?.

1 year agoProper pizza. Just wish it was bigger. Was busy for 5pm on a Thursday so it’s clearly good in here. If they delivered I’d be ordering once or twice a month. No hassle with anything and quick service. If I were picky I’d say they should sell dips but I’m not. Really enjoyed it.

1 year agoMy first time here but definitely not my last! Food was incredible, service second to none and atmosphere was fabulous! If you haven't eaten here you're missing out!

1 year agoThis place is incredible. I’m yet to actually dine in but it’s officially my go-to place for fresh stone baked pizza and cheesecake. The fact that it’s also staffed by a friendly team is just the icing on the cake.

1 year agoWe visited on a Thursday to try the lunch time deal of an 8" pizza (Margherita) and a soft or hot drink for £7.50. Our pizzas were absolutely delicious. I ordered an americano coffee with my pizza, which was very good. My partner ordered a Britvic ginger ale, which she enjoyed. To finish our lunch off, we tried four different types of Canoli (pistachio, chocolate, vanilla, lemon). We have never eaten canoli before, so we thought we would give them a try. Canoli is a pastry of tube shaped shells filled with a sweet, creamy filling. For me, they are perfect with a good cup of coffee or tea. Twentymans has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and with very friendly service is a place well worth visiting. We both highly recommend Twentymans.

1 year agoFirst time visit last night and we were very pleased with everything. The food was amazing, lovely light pizza's. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming too. The decor is also very smart indeed, and a credit to the owner's who are obviously passionate about their business.

1 year agoFirst time here. Absolutely beautiful! Think we’ve just found our new pizza place. Atmosphere was lovely. The decor of the place is very authentic. We need more places like this in the area. The only reason I gave the service a 4/5 was just because we had to ask for table water a few times and it was forgotten and one gent behind us spilt his drink on himself and the staff saw but didn’t offer any napkins and help. Which we did. But apart from that - I would highly recommend this restaurant and definitely the flat cheesy garlic bread, chorizo, and the Meatball Marinara pizza… ? ?? oh and the fries!

1 year agoHad a 40th birthday celebration here, staff were amazing, we ordered a large selection of starters, drinks and pizza, fries and garlic bread, everything was amazing, an enjoyable evening for everyone, highly recommended ?

2 years agoDespite living only 10 mins away this was our fist visit tonight. To say we were blown away by the food, service, atmosphere and general good feeling is an understatement. We took our daughter (15 months) who loved it. The staff were extremely attentive to her and to us. The pizzas were faultless. Our daughter inhaled hers, as did we! A superb night with fantastic food and faultless service. We cannot wait to return.

2 years agoI'm a Pizza expert having eaten them in Venice, Rome, Naples,.... and ALL over Italy - I love pizza ??? I ordered a ham and mushroom pizza, cheesy garlic bread and cheesecake from 'Twentymans' and,.................... it was scrumptious ? ?? I mean to say amazingly good - the dough, cheese, sauce and all the other ingredients were all TOP drawer, being high quality and perfectly sourced. I actually thought it was as good as one I recently ate in Naples which, as all true officianados will know, is the 'home' of Pizza. It honestly was better than any pizza I've eaten in England ?? ?? ? I chatted with the owner, Andrew, and found him to be delightful, witty company. What he's done here is quite fantastic,....... he's transported a little slice of Italy into Bradshawgate, Leigh and imo he deserves our respect and support for this. All his staff were very nice and polite too ??? The cheesecake was rich and exquisite and the perfect finish ??? The wine was delicious and the restaurant had a nice, chilled ambiance ??????❤❤❤ I'm gonna become a regular ? ?

2 years agoAlthough I only went for a coffee as I'd eaten before I came out but I had a big ex chef grin on my face. Pizzas are handmade cooked in a big pizza oven food looked and was wolfed down by the people there. Staff were great the boss was helpful and friendly so was the chef got chatting with some of people eating there. I'd highly recommend this place to all. Great coffee and cakes looking delicious and good wine selection. I'll be booking my spot pretty soon. Can't wait ☺

2 years agoWe accidentally ended up in Leigh and I found this place on Trip Advisor. I read a review of soggy pizza and saw photos of the burnt crust and I knew I stumbled upon proper Neapolitan pizza. We loved it and I'm not sure I could tell it apart from Rudy's.

2 years agoWe've tried the pizzas and the waitress said they were sourdough pizzas. I am not very convinced though. Also they sell some starter with sourdough and olive oil dip but the bread wasn't 100% sourdough. It was tasty but the sourdough is not what I expect it.

2 years agoHad a 30th meal here, service was excellent and very quick considering there were so many of us. They even re-put together a broken brownie tower we brought. Pizzas were as usual spot on ?

2 years agoBy far the best pizza takeaway around! The restaurant has a great rustic vibe to it and the staff are friendly and very helpful! Highly recommend checking this place out!

2 years agoNever been in before and it was lovely. Order a platter for starters and was amazing. Pepperoni pizza for main and again that was lovely. Since I was driving and could only have a glass of Prosecco which unfortunately they didn't do small sizes only big bottles,,,,so went for a Vodka and Lemonade instead. Staff very helpful and friendly, food came really quick but wasn't busy as we went around 8pm on a weekday. Definitely would go back.

2 years agoGreat pizza, fairly priced for what it is. If you want cheaper go ahead and go to some shoddy place that'll give you a grease puddle on soggy undercooked dough. Owners a bit unhinged on here but I love a good show. Will be returning.

3 years agoI haven't even eaten here bro, I just absolutely love the owner comments lmao. Although seeing the photos and hearing the experiences here, it really made me want to try some here. Definitely will add this spot on my bucket list if I ever visit

3 years agoBeen several times in the past but never again. Good food as usual but this time we found the owner not to be too welcoming despite giving him some excellent feedback about his staff. Having read the previous responses to reviews I was extremely disappointed by them and will definitely not go back again due to this poor experience having spent a lot of money in the restaurant.

3 years agoSurprised by the quality and authenticity of the pizzas. . Best I've had for a long time. BUT....they only do pizza. Missing an opportunity for Lasagne and other easy staple Italian foods. Will go again

3 years agoWe ventured in here today with our little one for lunch, I was concerned about having the pram however the server was lovely and we were able to sit out if the way so we didn't block other customers. The food was incredible, the service was great! Such a welcoming, friendly place with incredible decor. We even brought home a little desert to have and the owner even gave us a little extra treat. I cannot fault this place at all, I only wish we carried cash so we could tip as there was no card facility to tip which I feel awful About.

3 years agoA wonderful hidden gem in Leigh town centre. Beautiful, quirky decor and lovely friendly staff The vegan pizza was amazing. Quite possibly the best I have ever had. Unfortunately had to remove 1 star as there were no vegan dessert options ?

3 years agoThis isn't any old run of the mill pizza place, this is your Andrew Twentman's Artisan Bakery and Pizza place. THE best pizza place for miles & miles around. A MUST GO place. edit : I've noticed that the owner has been well and truly trolled by some reviewers who have obviously not been to the restaurant but have a political agenda. I've also reported the troll reviews. Believe me, this place is well worth a visit.
